Remodeling kitchens in Florida homes

Most Southwest Florida homes are concrete block on slab, which changes how a kitchen remodel is planned. Moving a sink or island means routing plumbing through the slab—work we do in-house, with permits and inspections, instead of subbing it out. Adding circuits for a larger range, wall ovens, or an island outlet goes through our own electricians, so the panel work matches the plan. And because humidity is a fact of life here, we choose materials and finishes that hold up: cabinet boxes, paints, and caulks rated for coastal conditions.

If you are updating a condo kitchen in season, we build a schedule around building rules and elevator reservations, and keep the site protected and clean between work days.

One team, one schedule

Kitchens stall when the cabinet installer, plumber, and electrician are three different companies. At DeWitt they are one family of licensed companies—Renovation + Design (CBC1268482), Plumbing & Drain (CFC1434256), and Electric (EC13015820)—sequenced by a single project lead with a clear scope and one standard of finish.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a kitchen remodel take?

Scope and cabinet lead times drive the schedule. Once cabinets and counters are in hand, the on-site work moves quickly because trades are not waiting on each other. We lay out the week-by-week plan—including template and install dates for counters—before demo starts.

Can you enlarge the opening between kitchen and living room?

Yes—enlarged bar openings and wall removals are a regular part of our kitchen work. See the kitchen projects in our portfolio, including a remodel with an enlarged bar pass.

Can the island get a sink or outlets?

Yes. Island plumbing and code-required island outlets are exactly the kind of work our in-house plumbing and electrical teams handle, permitted and inspected.

Do you help with design and material selection?

Yes. We help you dial in layout, cabinet style and color, counters, backsplash, and lighting so the finished kitchen works as one design.
